Adan’s Crypto & Finance Forum 2022: a new edition which consecrates the role of France in the structuring of crypto in Europe
Paris, July 18, 2022 – Before the summer holidays, the crypto-asset industry is being honored one last time at the major annual event of the Association for the Development of Digital Assets (Adan) in the Maison de la Mutualité: the Crypto & Finance Forum (CFF). In 2021, the first edition brought together more than 240 participants. Bonus this year: the Future of France evening which puts decentralized finance (DeFi) in the spotlight, and within the reach of the institutional world.
Federate and dialogue around the major challenges of the web 3 adventure
If crypto is at the heart of this day, the CFF wants to be a large gathering of players in the sector but also public decision-makers, the banking and financial industry, and all companies wishing to take an interest or even build this new pan , with multiple promises, of the global digital economy.
Thanks to the assistance of some forty experts from very varied backgrounds, the Forum takes up and deciphers the major structural and economic issues that have marked this year and will continue to mark the crypto sphere. The confrontation of points of view, intrinsically linked to the complexity and considerable impact of crypto innovation, is necessary in order to grasp the strategic issues associated with the development of French champions. Thus, pure crypto players rub shoulders on the CFF 2022 stage: the European Commission, the Financial Markets Authority (AMF), the Caisse des dépôts et des consignations (CDC), the General Directorate of the Treasury, the Office banking and financial coordination (OCBF), but also major established players who are watching carefully or even seizing on crypto, such as Casino Immobilier, Delubac et Cie, DLPK, KPMG and Novethic. First partner of the event, Societe Generale – Forge even devotes a round table to the ambitions of traditional industry – around Abn Amro Bank, Axa IM, Banco Santander, the Banque de France, Swift and Visa – and honors the winners of its competition (the CAST challenge) for setting new standards for tokenized financial instrument markets.
The CFF also claims to highlight the place and the driving force of France in order to develop crypto innovation on its territory. Two prestigious guests open and close the event: the new Minister Delegate for the Digital Transition and Telecommunications, Jean-Noël Barrot, and the Chairman of the AMF, Robert Ophèle.
“I would like to reaffirm our ambition for the French crypto-asset ecosystem, with the objective of making France a benchmark in the emerging Web 3 economy, and the leading European hub for crypto-assets.” declares the Minister to the attention of the French sector.
Hurray in Europe for crypto
The Crypto & Finance Forum is thus launching the 5th Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC), which will also take up residence at the Maison de la Mutualité the next day and place Paris at the center of the European and global crypto chessboard for a week.
Throughout the day, the Adan Forum paints the general landscape of crypto – economic, geopolitical, regulatory and competitive – and exposes the macro-economic issues linked to the upheavals in finance, the monetary landscape and the associated risks in terms of sovereignty. The opportunity to bring the European ecosystem together around a common vision, driven in particular by France, including in the context of the difficult debates that have taken place in recent months at EU level.
“Through the Crypto & Finance Forum, Adan wished to salute the place that France is taking on a long-term basis as a catalyst for the European crypto sector”, explains Faustine Fleuret, President of Adan. “France must continue to work to create favorable conditions for the emergence of French and European champions, because the road is still long and the obstacles many.”
Adan at the heart of the rise of French and European industry
CFF 2022 confirms Adan’s involvement and action to establish France and Europe as the stronghold of global crypto, by defending their competitiveness in the face of already fierce competition from the United States, the UK and Asia. On the occasion of the Forum, the Association unveils its 2021 activity report which attests to the efforts made and the achievements made to this end.
“The synergies between the public and private stakeholders in the dynamics of our digital economy are the key to a joint strategy favorable to the industry, which remains to be put in place” sums up Faustine Fleuret. “This requires a common understanding of the opportunities of this innovation, and the risks of delegating its control”.
Many companies from various backgrounds accompanied the event as partners, demonstrating a growing interest in the sector and the importance of positioning themselves in this market. Among them: SG – Forge, Delubac et Cie bank, CDC, DLPK, Lyncas, Scorechain and Waltio. The Association also welcomes the support of its media partners: Agefi, BSmart, CoinAcademy, Coin Telegraph, Cryptoast, Express, Maddyness and The Big Whale. Finally, Adan would like to thank its institutional partners who have facilitated the bridge between crypto and all economic players: AMAFI, ANCDGP, Croissance Plus, EUCI, Finance for Tomorrow, Finance Innovation, France Fintech, Place DeFi, the Swave and the OCBF.
The Association closes this great day with the Future of France evening, co-organized with the cream of decentralized finance: Aleph, Angle, APWine, Atlendis, Jarvis, Mangrove, Morpho, Paladin, Paraswap, Sismo and Synaps. The objective is to create bridges between traditional finance and DeFi, at a time when more and more French people want to embrace this innovation and when regulators are wondering about the supervision of this still young sector, but promised to take a major place in our daily lives of tomorrow.
